Trade in your expensive, broken hockey stick for $50 in credits.

You’ve got a "garage graveyard" of broken sticks. Maybe it’s a clean snap from a slash, a structural crack you don't trust anymore, or a high-end retail stick your kid simply outgrew.

Until now, those were landfill fodder. Not anymore.

We are officially launching the Puck Motion Trade-In Program in Beta. We’re testing a way to help you recoup the value of your sticks while helping us put more high-quality, refurbished pro-stock sticks back into the hands of hockey families for less.

🔄  How "The Cycle" Works

It’s a simple, three-step play to get you back on the ice with a top-of-the-line stick for a fraction of the retail price.

  1. Get Eligible: This program is an exclusive perk for our apparel customers. Once you’ve spent $100+ on Puck Motion apparel, you unlock the ability to trade in your broken stick for a $50 credit toward any refurbished stick in our store.
  2. Ship Your Stick: Send us your late-model Bauer, CCM, TRUE, or Warrior stick. Important: You must completely de-tape the blade and butt-end and inspect for hidden cracks before shipping.
  3. Earn & Save: Receive up to $50 in trade-in credits per stick. Once approved, use those credits to grab any Repair-Ready or Ship-Ready refurbished stick in our store.

💰 The Math: Why This is a Game-Changer

  • A new top-tier retail stick costs $350+.
  • A Puck Motion refurbished Pro Stock stick costs $140–$180.
  • With your $50 Trade-In credit — on top of any Stick Assists you earned from apparel purchases — you could be playing with an elite-level stick for under $100.
The Math in Motion: A Real-World Example

Meet "Hockey Dad" Dave. Dave's daughter just snapped her Bauer Hyperlite 2—a stick that cost $350 plus tax two months ago. Normally, that's a total loss.

Earlier that month, Dave grabbed a Puck Motion hoodie and an embroidered trucker hat ($105 total) to support the brand and its mission and to look good at the rink. That purchase earned him $10 in Stick Assists and unlocked his Trade-In Eligibility.

Dave then picks out a CCM Jetspeed FT7 Pro. While a "Repair-Ready" version might be $150, Dave chooses a "Ship-Ready" model for $160 so he can get it faster. He stacks his $10 in Stick Assists plus his $50 Trade-In credit, bringing the price of the stick down to just $100. After adding our $30 flat-rate shipping, Dave's checkout total is just $130.

The Bottom Line: Dave got $100 worth of premium apparel AND replaced a $350 elite stick for $130 at checkout. Even when you factor in the $25 Dave spent on postage to get his broken stick to us, his total investment to get back on the ice with a Pro Stock stick is only $155.

⚠️ The "Beta" Rules (Read Carefully)

We are running this as a Beta program to see if the logistics hold up. This program may change or disappear at any time. To get the maximum $50 credit, your stick must arrive Repair-Ready:

  • No Tape: If we have to de-tape it, we deduct $10.
  • Self-Inspection: De-taping allows you to find hidden cracks. If we find a 2nd or 3rd crack under the tape that wasn't disclosed, we deduct $20.
  • Eligible Models only: We only accept specific late-model sticks (see the list below).
  • Shipping: You cover the shipping to us (usually $20–$30 via USPS). We charge a flat $30 to ship your "new" refurbished stick back to you (Continental US only).

Pro Tip: By cleaning and inspecting your stick before you ship, you guarantee yourself the highest possible credit. Help us help you!
